Softball
-The Vikings continue #HLSB play on the road this weekend, traveling to Oakland for a three-game series on Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd.
-Last week, Cleveland State went 4-2, winning their third and fourth straight #HLSB series.
-Cleveland State currently sits second in the Horizon League standings with a 9-5 mark against league opponents so far this year.
Lacrosse
-Cleveland State hits the road for the final time in the regular season this weekend, traveling to Utah on Saturday, April 22.
-The Vikings went 1-1 last week, picking up a 13-12 win over Queens and falling to Bellarmine (13-8).
-Against Queens, Gannon Matthews scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in regulation, and now has 18 goals on the season.
Men’s Golf
-Cleveland State will close out the regular season at the Wright State Invitational, with action taking place on Sunday, April 16 and Monday, April 17.
-Last time, the Vikings finished fifth out of 13 teams at the NKU Jewell Invitational.
-Jack Hanus and David Laib each recorded top-10 finishes at the NKU Invite, both finishing T-7 at even par.
Women’s Golf
-The Vikings will next be in action at the Horizon League Championships, which begin on Sunday, April 23 in Orlando, Fla.
-Cleveland State finished second at the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational last time out, marking its second top-two team finish of the year.
– Brynna Mardis took home medalist honors with a birdie on the first playoff hole for her first career victory, while Sabrina Coffman finished as runner-up.
Men’s Tennis
-Cleveland State will close out regular season play on the road this weekend, traveling to Youngstown State on Saturday, April 22.
-Last time out, the Vikings captured the Horizon League North Division Regular Season Title with a pair of wins over Northern Kentucky (4-3) and IUPUI (6-1).
-The Vikings enter the final week of regular season play with a 19-6 overall record and a 7-0 mark against #HLTennis opponents.
Women’s Tennis
-The Vikings will close out regular season play at home this weekend, hosting Oakland on Saturday, April 22.
-Cleveland State picked up back-to-back wins last time out, earning matching 5-2 wins over IUPUI and Northern Kentucky.
-With a pair of wins at the top of the lineup, Oihane Vicario remains perfect in #HLTennis singles play, improving to 5-0 on the year.
Track and Field
-Last time, the Vikings had a strong showing at the Cherry Blossom Invite, led by Dynesty Ervin who won the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 58.33.
-Cleveland State recorded six more top-10 individual finishes, including a sixth-place showing from Ervin in the 200 Meter Dash and a fourth-place finish from Ana Crangle in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
Vikings of the Week Nominees
Dynasty Ervin, Track and Field
Won the 400 Meter Dash at the Cherry Blossom Invite with a time of 58.33, while also finishing sixth in the 200 Meter Dash (25.67).
Kade Mindry, Men’s Tennis
Going 2-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles over the weekend, helping the Vikings capture the Horizon League North Division Regular Season Title. With his wins over IUPUI and Northern Kentucky Mindry surpassed the 50-win mark for his career and the 20-win mark for the season.
Brynna Mardis, Women’s Golf
Won her first tournament as a Viking after taking home medalist honors at the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational. Won the title with a birdie on the first playoff hole and set a career-low total of 148 for the 36-hole event.
Oihane Vicario, Women’s Tennis
Went 2-0 at No. 1 singles, remaining perfect against Horizon League opponents on the year, and helping the Vikings to a winning streak.
