NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” mocked Mayor Eric Adams’ designation of Kathleen Corradi as “rat czar” — and the city’s conservative Staten Island borough — during its Weekend Update segment.
“Kathleen Corradi has been announced as New York City’s first rat czar — a title formerly known as Miss Staten Island,” said co-host Michael Che Campbell.
The camera then pans to co-host Colin Jost, a Staten Island native, who seems to say under his breath, “loser.”
Jost famously teamed up with fellow Islander and SNL alum Pete Davidson to buy a decommissioned ferry and turn it into a hobby.
The Sanitation Department’s latest ad campaign against dirt is also the weight of a different joke on the part.
“The New York City Sanitation Department launched its first campaign in 15 years with messages like, “If you litter, you’re trash”, which was actually dialed back from the original version, “Your trash it’s in the trash next to your whore wife,’” Jost ripped.

Meanwhile, Adams anti-rodent zealotry will be on display in Saturday’s satirical Inner Circle show dressed as journalists in New York City.
In a spoof of “Batman Forever”, the rat-hating Adams will be called “Ratman,” opposite “Fobin” by his press secretary Fabian Levy at the extraordinary annual charity event at the Ziegfeld Ballroom.
The SNL segment also joined the culture wars, dedicating a portion of its Weekend Update segment early Sunday to condemn anti-transgender legislation passed in states around America.
