Alan Wake II and Control 2 Developer Remedy Entertainment has updated its logo for the first time in more than 20 years, the company announced.
“A few years ago, as our studio changed from making one game at a time to making many simultaneously and expanded beyond the borders of Finland, to a second location in Stockholm, Sweden , we embarked on a mission to refine our visual identity,” Remedy Entertainment said in a blog post.
Here’s the full message from Remedy Entertainment on its new logo:
Creating a new logo and a renewed visual identity for Remedy was an emotional journey, like anything related to art. For longtime Remedy followers, you surely know how important art direction is to us. Not just in our games but from the standpoint of what our studio identity looks like. Not to mention our hoodies!
As a game development studio, we have come a long way since 1995 when we started. Medicine is constantly evolving.
The bullet in the letter “R” in the old logo represents the era of Max Payne, but Remedy is now much bigger than a game; we have a full portfolio of games, new and old.
It’s time to update and redefine our visual identity to bring more consistency, reflect our evolution over the years, and better express our vision of Remedy today.
The Remedy logo means a lot to us, but we know it means a lot to you, too. Just like the games we make at Remedy, we approach this process with great care, consideration and lots of love!
We want to create memorable worlds, stories, and characters for you to experience through our games. We want our new logo to reflect how we are constantly evolving and continue to create exciting games with the best people. However, everything is still a Remedy where bold creativity flourishes. We hope you like the new look.
Our future is very exciting. Despite nearly three decades in the gaming industry, in many ways it feels like we’re just getting started. You can expect Alan Wake II later this year and many more amazing Remedy experiences to play in the years to come.
