Love is blind The producers responded after previous contestants from the Netflix dating series complained about elements of the production and said the show’s team did little to prioritize mental health.
For one Inside story published on Tuesday, several individuals appeared in the Love is blind recounts the challenging aspects of their time on the Kinetic Content-produced show. Love is blind Premiered in February 2020, the show aired its season four reunion special on Monday after technical difficulties amid the streamer’s plan to air it live.

In a statement shared by The Hollywood ReporterKinetic Content responds to Inside story by saying, “The well-being of our participants is paramount at Kinetic. We have strict protocols in place to take care of each person before, during, and after filming.
Among the former contestants who spoke to the outlet was Danielle Ruhl, who married Nick Thompson in the second season of the show that aired in February 2022 before the couple filed for divorce that summer. Ruhl recalled having a panic attack during production and admitted that she hid in a closet to avoid the experience being seen on camera. According to Ruhl, the producers convinced him to stay on the show.
“I kept telling them, ‘I don’t have confidence in myself,'” Ruhl said Inside. “‘I have tried to commit suicide before. I thought about suicide. I don’t think I can go on with this.’”
Thompson also spoke to the publication and said producers should do more to support the couple after filming ends. “I was literally begging for help, and I didn’t get it,” Thompson said of his exchange with the producers after the season. “I want to fix my marriage that you pushed us for profit. And it was nothing.”
Some contestants who spoke to the publication claimed that it was difficult to get enough sleep during filming, while others said that food and water were not always available. According to Insideseveral former cast members have stated that the show should make a therapist available during shooting, just like other dating series including Bachelor the franchise is over.
“I thought I might find my husband,” said an unnamed contestant from season two. “I had no idea it was going to be so much emotional warfare.”
