You are already sleeping your alarm. The birds are not yet chirping, the neighborhood is not yet, and the dark morning hardly prompts you to start the day. But as you enter your car, a hint of sunshine greets you, turning a daily commute into a ritual that brightens your day.
The new Volvo EX90 further redefines the premium car experience, illuminating the interior of the vehicle in near sunlight provided by a full suite of 72 SunLike LEDs.

Volvo designers aim to enhance the connection with nature, day and night. SunLike LEDs, supplied by Seoul Semiconductor, equip the panoramic roof and open cabin. The new, non-flickering lighting addition enables a more natural color expression beyond what can be achieved with LEDs currently used in the automotive industry – delivering low light reflection and a high color index that expresses natural colors as they appear in nature.
“By using the spectrum of light emitted from SunLike LEDs, the progressive materials and interior design of the Volvo EX90 are clearer and without color distortion,” said Dan Fidgett, Head of Color and Materials. “Adding our wood deco and other natural materials inside the cabin, the lights are central to our Scandinavian design language”.
While SunLike lights are already used to bring natural light into indoor spaces in residential spaces, hospitals, schools, museums and horticultural applications, the Volvo Car Group is the first to introduce LEDs. into production cars with the Polestar 3 and the Volvo EX90.

All non-decorative lighting in the interior of the Volvo EX90 whether installed in the ceiling, floor, door pocket or trunk has SunLike LEDs as standard.
Besides enhancing the aesthetics of this progressive interior, the SunLike lights also provide natural comfort to all occupants of the Volvo EX90. Blocking blue light combined with non-flickering light emitting from cabin luminaires helps reduce eye strain and headaches associated with such exposure.
