WEST FARGO – Spicy Pie is mixing things up in the Fargo-Moorhead pizza scene.
The company will soon open a Spicy Pie express style outlet at the Holiday Inn at 3803 13th Ave. S., confirmed the company’s spokesperson on Tuesday, April 18.
Spicy Pie replaces Godfather’s Pizza in the hotel’s Gallery Restaurant, said Lexi Rosenthal, Spicy Pie’s director of marketing and operations.
The Godfather needed a new oven, and EPIC Companies, which bought Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express in December, wanted to have a local pizza company serving its guests, Rosenthal said.
“This is the perfect time to make the switch,” Rosenthal said.
The Godfather’s express outlet is closed, he said.
A new oven was installed and Spicy Pie set up shop and should be operating within a few weeks.
“We’ll be ready to go as soon as our kitchen is up and running,” Rosenthal said.

The offerings will be narrower than other Spicy Pie outlets to begin with. Hotel guests and other customers will be able to purchase 18-inch pies, but the outlet will not sell by the slice.
The menu will include Spicy Pie’s more popular specialty pizzas and some build-your-own options, Rosenthal said. There are also garlic knots and dessert knots.
“We’re excited to get in there,” he said.
Spicy Pie currently has three locations:
- 322 Broadway N., downtown Fargo
- 745 32nd Ave. E., West Fargo
- 1100 N. Broadway, Minot, ND
South Fargo Spicy Pie, at 2640 52nd Ave. S., recently closed, Rosenthal said.
However, plans call for West Fargo to get a second Spicy Pie. Rosenthal said a restaurant is planned for the Envy building at The Lights residential and commercial complex at 3150 Sheyenne St. He said the goal is to open the restaurant by the end of the summer to serve that part of the community.
