Woodland’s Wine and Dine event returns this Saturday and will benefit Zamora Elementary School.
“Grab your friends and family, find a sitter and plan to join us for an evening of great food, lots of auctions and a ton of fun as we raise money to support our teachers, staff , school and children,” said the event’s website.
Tickets for the Saturday, April 1 event at Willow Oak Hall — located at 17535 County Road 97 in Woodland — are $55 per person or $500 for a table of eight, according to the website.
Doors open at 5:30pm and dinner will be served at 6:30pm

Jackrabbit Brewing in West Sacramento is celebrating its 10th anniversary and invites people to join them for a day of “beer and fun” from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at its taproom located at 1323 Terminal St.
The event will feature food from Benji’s Woodfire Pizza and Konfucious Eats Rame, Chardennay’s Dessert Truck, a brewery open house and live music from Sugar Plum and The Key of C.

West Sacramento’s River Fox Train will offer the Easter Egg Express offering the chance to celebrate the holiday on “an unforgettable train ride” while visiting its private river park and boarding station.
“Kids can have a unique Easter experience – bring your own egg basket and participate in an Easter egg hunt,” the event’s website encourages. “It will be so much fun to make your little bunny jump with excitement.”
Each ticket includes a train ride approximately one hour long and a visit to the park. Food and drinks can be purchased at the River Fox Café and on the train, according to the website.
Tickets for anyone age 3 and up are $59.95 and $10.95 for children 2 and under.
Boarding will take place at 18095 County Road 117 in West Sacramento and will begin 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Yolo County will participate in The Vegan Chef Challenge this April encouraging local chefs to create plant-based menu options.
“Local chefs will compete for your votes with creative and delicious plant-based menu options,” the event’s press release stated. “Veganism is on the rise and you’re invited to find out why. This Earth month we encourage everyone to try plant-based for the environment.
The event is sponsored by Vegan Outreach, an international nonprofit organization that aims to reduce animal suffering by promoting a vegan lifestyle through education and making vegan options easier.
“The theme of this challenge is Go Green, Yolo!,” the release emphasized.
Residents are encouraged to visit veganchefchallenge.org/yolo to see a list of participating restaurants and menu items, sample them and then vote for their favorites either at the restaurants or by April 30 at website.
“The list of current participating businesses is: ZimCuisine, UC Davis (The Gunrock, Spoke Grill and Scrubs Cafe), Burger Patch, Let Them Eat Cake, Bones Craft Kitchen, Davis Food Co-op, Red 88 Noodle Bar , Upper Crust Baking , Bare Juices and Manaao Thai Cuisine,” explained the press release.
The winning dishes will be announced in May, according to the release.
