The Minnesota Vikings find themselves in a position this offseason where they need help all over the defense, including the defensive line. Last week, the Vikings worked with Dalvin Tomlinson to push back his void date so the two sides could evaluate the free agency market and determine if it would be best to part ways. It doesn’t matter if they re-sign Tomlinson, they still need depth on the defensive line.
Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports released his mock draft on Sunday and gave the Vikings depth with Pittsburgh defensive lineman Calijah Kancey.
I always say any time you can get a disruptive, undersized tackle from Pitt, you should go for it. OK, so Calijah Kancey is not Aaron Donald, but almost anyone. But he’s disruptive and plays every snap like it’s his last. He would be an absolute steal for the Vikings or whoever takes him.
Fornelli is right that Kancey could be a steal for many teams. While he was still small, he took it back with his relentlessness. Kancey is a player who continues to fight for every down and is a pest to offensive linemen.
The size varies depending on where draft experts think Kancey will be taken. If the Vikings draft him, they will be getting a disruptive player with serious upside.
