Not only is EPCAN Food Bank open, we are still serving our local clients in need.
The Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center (PCIRC) announcement yesterday, in Plumas News, of the temporary closure of the Portola Family Resource Center (PFRC) is both untimely and a blow to the needs of the local Portola community.
What was not explained in the brief statement is that pre-registration and qualification for individual and family food services, previously provided by PFRC, will now be provided directly to clients at EPCAN, located at 120 Nevada Street in Portola. Our opening hours are:
Monday or Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:30 am; or Thursday Noon – 2 pm
As easy as one, two, three, individuals looking for “Blue Slips” for monthly food allocations can now come to EPCAN during our regular opening hours, according to the EPCAN Board of Directors. We hope this clarifies what the previous announcement failed to mention.
