Raid: Shadow Legends, the hit mobile and desktop game from Plarium Games, is getting the TV treatment.
The fantasy role-playing game is being adapted into a limited 10-episode animated series that will be released weekly on YouTube starting May 18. Raid: Call of the Arbiter, The animated series was created by Eric Rollman, the former president of Marvel Television and Animation, along with showrunner Jay Oliva, whose previous work includes directing the 2012 animated film Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and served as storyboard artist for DC and Marvel films such as Wonder Woman, by Zack Snyder Justice League, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and so on.

The animated series features main characters from Raid video game and centers on the Arbiter, an ancient guardian who attempts to return and revive the land known as Teleria, which seems to have been abandoned by its gods and ravaged by conflict.
“There is a significant demand from players who want to know more about the story, more about the characters, more about the experiences,” said Michael Lang, CEO of Plarium’s parent company. It’s more coming out to our players and wanting to expand the storyline of what this game represents. “
Attack: Shadow Legends first released as a mobile game in 2018 and later made available to play on desktop.
Lang said the decision to release the series on YouTube will help the series “change in a global way” compared to if the company had put the series behind a paywall and made it available only in the US.
