An entertainment company based near the Osceola Campus is starting to see one of its poorest years.
Eklectic Entertainment was created ten years ago by Krisyln Rojas, founder and lead singer of the Blonde Ambition Band. The company has a variety of entertainment from costumed acts to bands.
Since Blonde Ambition was done, Rojas quit her job as a performer at a former talent agency after being asked to work in sales. He created his own talent agency to continue doing what he loves. And thus, Eklectic Entertainment was born.
“I owe it to them to take it as far as possible,” Rojas said in reference to Blonde Ambition.
Fast forward to the year 2020 where Eklectic seems to be taking off. With COVID-19 causing restrictions on indoor events, all entertainment companies alike are having trouble finding venues. However, live entertainment is still alive in the Villages of Florida after the lockdown.
Since all their venues are outside, the Barangays are still able to put on live entertainment every night. Krisyln Rojas saw this as an opportunity for Eklectic Entertainment.
The company only had a few bands perform there a few times before COVID, but it was enough to book them after the lockdown.
“We introduced ourselves to [the Villages’ residents] what most people would pay thousands of dollars to see at a private event,” Rojas said.
Before Rojas and his bands, residents of The Villages were used to bands performing music from older decades. But Eklectic brings new fun.
“The music, and the energy, and the youth that we bring to the table is something that’s just different from what [the residents] used to,” said Rojas.
Now you can see most of the Eklectic bands performing in the Villages many nights throughout
the week. As well as their upcoming shows at Disney’s EPCOT from May 9 to May 11, and their frequent visits to Boxi Park across the street from the Lake Nona campus.
Eklectic Entertainment doesn’t just stay in small venues. They also need to add performance to
the Superbowl LIV on their resume. Latin Ambition, another band from Eklectic, performed
for the Official NFL Fan Zone Party in Miami in 2020.
Another milestone the company hit in 2020 was a BizBash segment. Rojas and company
BizBash named “2020’s Must-Know Event Pros in the US”
But now you can find the company booked almost anywhere and by anyone. And Eclectic
Performers get front row seats to the company’s demand for bookings.
“We can go anywhere from doing a public performance in The Villages, to driving 3 hours
the next morning to go to Naples and do a corporate show, which then maybe there will be a wedding, or hop
on a plane to Las Vegas for the weekend,” said Renan Bonilla, singer of Eklectic’s Latin Ambition.
and Blonde Ambition bands, said what a weekly schedule looks like.
And if the memo hasn’t been received yet, Eklectic is in high demand. Both Rojas and
Brooke Morris, a member of the Eklectic Entertainment office staff, said the company is in the
middle of their busiest year. And it’s only March.
When asked how many inquiries they see a day Morris said, “At least ten a day.”
“Last year was the beginning of it. Last year was a record breaking year. That’s because everyone
