Organisers of a malfunctioned bonfire night display have confidence responded after reports that fireworks shot into the crowd. Attendees at the display at Mynydd y Garreg Hall shut to Kidwelly on Tuesday night described how fireworks “went out of control”.

Others described their horror that organisers looked ignorant of the incident, claiming that the tournament carried on before numerous extra fireworks reportedly shot into the crowd.

Organisers of the tournament have confidence now addressed the incident, apologising for any “any distress caused”. A spokeswoman talked about: “Mynydd y Garreg Hall has been hosting an annual community fireworks display for 30 years. We’re a community hall run by volunteers in the community for the community.”
It continued: “We’re aware of an incident at our display on Tuesday evening where one firework in the 30 minute display unfortunately did not fire in the direction intended. There were no serious injuries reported to us and the remainder of the display continued without incident.
“Security has always been paramount and we are sorry for any anxiousness precipitated by the incident. As always, we are grateful for the pork up of the neighborhood. We’re working with the native authority to review our procedures.”
