Last week on January 18 the JV basketball boys traveled to Hooper Bay. They were supposed to be there for 5 days, but I think the weather told them to stay in Hooper Bay and enjoy it for one more night. The boys played Dillingham, Scammon Bay, Toksook and St Mary’s. They defeated Dillingham and St. Mary’s and lost to Toksook and Scammon.
Mr. Kuhne said, “My team is ok, one thing the guys need to improve on is closing down shooters.”
Kenneth Fox said, “The most exciting game we played was against Dillingham because our team won. I scored 8 points. What I enjoyed most about that trip was watching the basketball games. Toksook is the most challenging opponent because they have good defense and offense.
Gunnar Fitka said, “Dillingham was the most exciting because I had a lot of blocks coming, and it was fun. Being stuck in Hooper Bay is fun, and playing basketball every day is like 8 hours. Scammon Bay is the most challenging opponent, they have many good shooters.
George Lee said, “The most fun game we played was against Dillingham because we beat them and we all scored. Toksook was the most challenging because it was short and fast.
Keegan Thompson said, “St. Mary’s is exciting because they have a main shooter that we have to worry about. I enjoyed playing games during my trip. Scammon Bay is probably the most challenging to play because they have great shooters.
Mason Berlin said, “The most exciting game we played was probably St Mary’s because in that game I had the most points, the challenging team we played was Toksook because they were really good.”
Warren Nicolai said, “St. Mary’s is a fun game because the score is so close. I would say Scammon Bay will be the most challenging game because they are good and can shoot the 3.”
Aaron Mute said, “A game against St. Mary was very close and we were about to lose. While on that trip the most fun thing that happened was making memories. “
This week the JV boys and girls will travel to St. Mary’s. GO WARRIORS!!!
