Janelle Monáe has been growing a horror project that she “cannot wait” to procure into production.
The singer and actress has been fan of horror and Halloween for rather a lot of years but she has only starred in a horror movie as soon as – 2020’s Antebellum – so she has been growing projects of her enjoy in that model.
Revealing her upcoming plans, Janelle told The Hollywood Reporter that she has been engaged on a horror impressed by the Greek mythological character Medusa, who is depicted as having living snakes as her hair.
“I have my own TV and film company, Wondaland Pictures, and we are looking to have more conversations and partner with folks whose taste aligns with ours and with mine,” she shared. “Halloween gives me so many original IP (intellectual property) ideas for horror films, psychological thrillers, science fiction, sci-fi worlds.
“I’ve a movie that I’m growing with Universal and Akela Cooper, who’s a marvelous creator. It is according to the Medusa story and it is known as Possess now not Glance. I’m so smitten by that. It is going to be a horror film that, all over again, is a play on the Greek Medusa story. I’ve other original tips. I’ve been growing characters with my SFX group for albums, for motion photographs. I’m able to’t wait till the 2d comes where we now have a script and we’re ready to shoot it.”
In separate interview with People, the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery actress shared that she had also spoken with horror writer-director Jordan Peele about making a film together.
“We texted a couple of months within the past, and he and I both stated we’re going to manufacture our movie. So I mediate it would happen. It is impartial timing,” she said of the Get Out filmmaker.
