India’s Clapstem Entertainment, led by director-producer Girish Malik and producer Amardeep S. Reen, has completed the film “Band of Maharajas,” which is slated for a screening at the European Film Market ( EFM) in Berlin.
Malik’s directorial debut, ecological drama “Jal” (2013), was in the New Currents competition in Busan. His sophomore feature, refugee and sports themed “Torbaaz” (2020), starring Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, is a Netflix original film.
His third film “Band of Maharajas” is the story of three clueless young musicians from a remote village on the Indian border who do an unplanned and unusual a trip to Pakistan that changed their lives and music. The film has the tagline “While countries divide us, music unites us.”
Next up is the docu-drama “Om Namah Shivay” which will begin production in March. The film will explore the Eastern philosophy of how the Hindu god Shiva and the mantra Om Namah Shivay can bring harmony.
