A number of viewers watching the ceremony found the funny side of Alcock’s seemingly drunk appearance with one posting on social media: “Milly Alcock slightly drunk on Golden Globes holding Emma D’arcy with her life iconic.”
In House of the Dragon, Alcock plays the younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen with D’Arcy playing the character in adulthood.
The fantasy show is a prequel to Game of Thrones and set about 200 years before George RR Martin’s original series.
Alcock has previously discussed filming some of the show’s controversial scenes including a depiction of incest along with Matt Smith who plays her character’s uncle.
Alcock said: “[We] were just kind of mates. So, it was quite comfortable. We had an intimacy coordinator, and we worked with her through the rehearsal process and blocked it out months before.”
As well as House of the Dragon, Alcock is best known for her role in Sky Atlantic comedy series Upright alongside Tim Minchin.
Alcock has also starred in a number of projects in her native Australia including crime thriller Reckoning and supernatural series The Gloaming.
