A heat advisory continues for Southeast Texas until 11 a.m. Friday for Feels Like temperatures up to 112 degrees. Additionally, an Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for Southeast Texas from 11 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday. The temperature reached triple digits this afternoon. In addition, the humidity is higher so the heat index is between 105-110 degrees. As of today, we are on the verge of tying or setting the record high through Saturday.
No rain in the forecast with our temperatures remaining steady throughout the 10 day forecast. We are close to record highs through Saturday. There’s also a chance we’ll get an extreme heat warning this week when the heat index hits 113 degrees.
There will be no relief this week as a strong ridge of high pressure dominates the weather pattern for the next ten days. No rain is forecast either. Be quick in the heat and stay super hydrated. Please make sure you, your family and pets are safe in this heat this week.
The tropics are quite busy with a system coming from Africa and a 20% chance for that to develop over the next 7 days.
