Loggerheads Country Park faced a temporary closure for around a week last October due to “devastating” floods following Storm Babet. Repair work was swiftly carried out, and according to Catherine, plans were in place to finish flood defence enhancements by mid-October, reports North Wales Live.
Catherine said: “Unfortunately the autumn rain arrived somewhat too early. A row of trees believe been ripped out, which has made it simpler for the water to receive into the predicament. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has issued a flood alert for the River Alyn near Mold, warning that water levels are surging. This alert covers parts of Mold such as Leadmill, Ponterwyl, Glanyrafon, Pentre and Broncoed.
NRW warned: “Flooding to property is imaginable. Flooding of low-mendacity land and roads is anticipated. Flood defences are now in operation and inspections taking situation. Overtopping and/or breaches of these defences can also merely motive flooding to properties at threat.”
Another alert is still active for the River Alyn between Llandegla and Rossett, with river levels reported to be higher than usual. Specific areas of Rossett are under threat, including Burton Road, Station Road, The Copse, Chester Road and properties next to Mill Leat.
An additional NRW flood alert has been issued for the River Dee in the Vale of Llangollen up to Holt/Farndon and Trevalyn Meadows. This also includes the communities at Erbistock, Plas Devon and Almere.
