BEIRUT (Reuters) – At least 1,602 folk had been killed and thousands injured in Syria following numerous deadly earthquakes and aftershocks in neighbouring Turkey, authorities and rescuers stated on Tuesday.

Scream news company SANA stated at least 812 folk had been killed and 1,449 folk injured in the governmentheld provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Idlib and Tartous.
At least 790 folk had been killed in Syria’s opposition-held northwest and 2,200 injured with the toll anticipated to “upward thrust dramatically,” the White Helmets rescue team stated.
A magnitude 7.8 quake hit Turkey and neighbouring Syria early on Monday, toppling thousands of buildings including many residence blocks, wrecking hospitals, and leaving thousands of individuals injured or homeless.
