A man has been arrested for opening the door of an Asiana Airlines plane as it landed in South Korea.
All 194 passengers survived the flight, which landed safely but its door was still open at Daegu International Airport on Friday.
Some passengers fainted while others had breathing problems and were taken to hospital, local media reported.
The 30-year-old man said he felt relieved and wanted to get off immediately, Yonhap news agency reported.
Police said the man admitted during questioning that he was stressed after losing his job, the report said.
Flight OZ8124, an Airbus A321-200 jet, took off from Jeju Island on Friday around 11:45 local time (03:45 GMT).
When it landed about an hour later, a male passenger opened the emergency door while the plane was still 250m from the ground.
A passenger’s video shared on social media shows a gap in the left side of the plane and the wind whipping across rows of seated passengers.
Flight attendants were unable to stop him as the plane was about to land, witnesses told local media.
They said the man also tried to jump from the plane after the door was opened.
Passengers described the terror on board.
“It was a chaos of people near the door who appeared to be losing each other and the flight attendants were calling for the doctors on board by broadcasting,” a 44-year-old passenger told Yonhap.
“I thought the plane exploded. I thought I was going to die like this,” he added.
A number of school children were also on board, on their way to a sporting event at the weekend.
The mother of one of the students told Yonhap: “The children are shaking, crying, and scared.”
