Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Croydon are releasing an image of a potential witness.
The motorcyclist in the photo was believed to be close to the scene of the collision and may have vital information.
Police were called shortly after 18:00hrs on 30 August 2022 to a collision involving an ambulance and a motorcycle at the junction of Purley Way and Edgehill Road.
The ambulance was en route to an emergency call at the time of the collision; its crew provided first aid.
Officers responded with the London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance.
Despite their efforts, the rider, 52-year-old David Sharp, from Lingfield in Surrey was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating, and in particular, are asking anyone who has dashcam footage to come forward.
