We’re two weeks away from October, and you know what which draw: dismay time. Whereas Alien: Romulus and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are cleaning up in theaters, there’s some provoking stuff coming to TV, and Peacock’s hoping you’ll tune in for its original point to, Teacup.
Created by Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) and govt produced by Conjuring head James Wan, the series stars Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman as a married couple living on an isolated ranch in rural Georgia. Nonetheless things are starting to obtain a minute queer: the animals are spooked, their younger son goes missing, and after his return, a mysterious man in a gas veil attracts a line to cordon off the ranch. And according to the minute one, some thing is coming that the ranchers prefer to defend themselves against. Even worse, if they imperfect that threshold the masked man makes…smartly, it appears to be like cherish infamous things are gonna occur.
Teacup is inspired by Robert McCammon’s 1988 new Stinger, which McCulloch referred to as a “no-holds-barred, distinguished spectacle of a new.” At Comic-Con this previous July, he explained how Wan’s production firm Atomic Monster approached him about adapting Stinger for TV, and despite being extra geared in the direction of “large experiences told thru dinky lenses” (think Signs and A Aloof Quandary), the e book “wouldn’t go me alone. I appropriate couldn’t cease thinking about its razor-enchanting premise, how it unfolds over the route of a single harrowing day. […] That’s when the flash-bang light-bulb understanding hit.”
Also starring Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, and Boris McGiver, Peacock will premiere Teacup’s first two episodes on October 10, followed by two episodes per week unless it wraps on Halloween.
