Patrick and Jonathan Kennedy, of Wilkes-Barre, pose with the Easter Bunny
WILKES-BARRE – A little rain didn’t stop area residents from enjoying some Easter fun at Public Square as the Downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Association hosted its annual Easter egg Hunt at Saturday.
“The kids had fun,” said Patrick Kennedy, who brought his two sons to the event. “It was a little wet but everything turned out really well.”
The annual free event features an Easter egg Hunt, of course, complete with candy-filled eggs and special prizes for different age categories. After the hunt, families are free to roam downtown Wilkes-Barre and get snacks and candy from area businesses and the Wilkes-Barre police department.
Kids get their faces painted at the FM Kirby Center and many of the businesses have fun Easter themed games.
Seeing this, Kennedy’s sons, Patrick and Jonathan, were oblivious to the rain as they rushed from getting their picture taken with the Easter Bunny to get food from one of the many businesses. downtown that participated in the event.
The Times Leader Media Group is the sponsor of the event.
