A man has been charged with distributing terrorist material and expressing abet for a proscribed organisation on social media after an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Abdullah Bellil 29 (04.11.95) became arrested by counter terrorism officers at his dwelling address in Southampton on Wednesday, 18 December and taken into custody.
He has now been charged with three counts of distributing the contents of a terrorist newsletter via a social media memoir, contrary to part 2(1)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He has furthermore been charged with expressing an view or perception on social media, that became supportive of a proscribed organisation, namely ISIS, contrary to part 12(1A) of the Terrorism Act 2000.
